Give yourself a break. Make sometime for yourself. Pursue a passion and indulge in activities that completely absorb you. It may be singing, dancing, painting, gardening, cooking or may be just playing a sport or practicing yoga. Shed the do it all role. Take one day at a time and one task at a time. Be positive, calm, rational and realistic. Confide in your loved ones. Be in the company of friends who make you feel good.

Indulge in some physical activity. It can be some kind of sports that you enjoy. It helps you to stay fit and sleep better. Go for a good body massage. It will help you to lower you blood pressure and heart rate and help your muscles relax. Practice yoga, pranayam or deep breathing exercises. Close your eyes and chant “Om. Practice deep breathing for about fifteen minutes every day.

If you feel like crying just let go. Open your heart and cry. Crying opens the chest and diaphragm, releasing bound-up energy. This helps to free your heart of muscular tension. A loud cry also enhances oxygen delivery to the cells and stimulates the release of specific neurochemicals in the brain that promotes relaxation.

Laughing is the best way to keep away from stress. Treat yourself to chocolate whenever you are feeling low and stressed out. But be careful do not over do the chocolate part as it may increase your waistline and cause you a lot of grief.
