Diabetic patients are more prone to develop kidney problem than non-diabetic patients. Also among all the causes of kidney failure, diabetes alone constitute almost 50% of the etiology of renal failure. Hence it is essential to prevent the development and retard the the progression of diabetic nephropathy.
