Don’t go on a crash diet to lose the extra bulge instantly. Instead go slow. Never lose more than a kg per week. It is healthy for both the body and mind. If you lose too fast, the body slows down the metabolism. Just learn to practice discipline and self-control. I have seen many women just eating out of boredom. It’s also wise to take on some hobby, some activity that takes your mind away from food.

A healthy diet is very important because women generally suffer from anemia, hormonal imbalance, lack of Vitamin B12 and D, calcium deficiency and lots more. So to shed weight and to remain healthy and fit you need to consume lots of fibre. Cereals like jowar, bajra, ragi and oats are excellent. Make sure you drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water daily. Fibre and water ensures a complete, squeaky clean elimination where your tummy feels as flat as an ironing board and you feel on top of the world.

Rich sources of iron are bananas, raisins, beetroot, fenugreek leaves, lettuce, onions, soybeans, spinach, almonds, black sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and honey. VitaminB12 is present in milk and milk products. Vitamin C is present in citrus fruits, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, strawberries and papaya.

Keep a note of what you are eating and eat a variety of healthy foods to avoid deficiencies. Have nice balanced mix of carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and fluids. Eat moderate and regular meals for best results. Keep a track of what you are eating by writing it down on a diary. The days you feel that you have overeaten, try and do a little bit of extra work-out. Never get dampened and learn to love your body.
