My grandmother who is a Filipino always tells us if a woman is beautiful during pregnancy the baby would be a girl otherwise it would a boy. Well it's some kinda urban legend in the Philippines I guess. In my opinion it's different for every women, like me during my first pregnancy everyone would tell me that I look more pleasant and fresh when I'm pregnant. The second time I got pregnant still the same comments. So I guess it's just in your genes and what's important is after giving birth you'll be back to your normal self again except for some like me who gained a few pounds.
