Amblyopia / Lazy Eye

Amblyopia, also called lazy eye, is reduced vision (usually in one eye) that is not due to any structural abnormality or eye disease and is not correctable by glasses or contact lens. About 2-5% of children have amblyopia, and treatment involves forcing the child to use the lazy eye.

HI ,

I WOULD LIKE YOU TO CONSULT A REPUTED EYE SURGEON IMMEDIATELY AND DO AS HE / SHE SAYS. AFTER HAVING ANOTHER OPINION . AS I HAVE DEVELOPED THIS IN MY 50's AND SURGERY OF ANY KIND CANNOT BE PERFORMED, i CAN UNDERSTAND THE DIFFICULTIES WHICH YOUR DAUGHTER IS FACING NOW.

REGARDS

For cure of lazy eye start eye exercises. Close one eye and try to paint ot draw or write with the other eye open. Repeat the same procedure with the other eye too. Repeat this exercise for 10 to 15 minutes in each eye. Do these exercises regularly. Also taking more of almonds, nuts, green vegetables and fruits will help. Besides take care to watch TV from a distance of 3 to 4 meters.

I personally think that now she is barely at that age and you should do as much possible to cure it as soon as possible. I am 14 and my parents did not try to fix the problem right away, and they care even less now. They don't even bother to take me to the eye doctor annually anymore. The challenges i have faced are crucial. Getting teased in elementary school was bad enough, but having a horribly low self esteem in middle school was the still worse. It was so bad that I became depressed for a period of time. You'd be doing your daughter a huge favor by curing it now. My self esteem is very low and I have personal insecurities too, so I cover my eyes with my hair. I've always wanted to show the world how beautiful I am, but this Amblyopia has stopped me from doing so because I do not feel beautiful. I feel completely ashamed of my appearance. Thanks for hearing me out.
My heart goes out to you and your daughter.

Following is the extract from a website:

Because there are several causes of amblyopia, the treatment must match the problem. Glasses or contact lenses can fix some problems, but surgery may be needed for cataracts, droopy eyelids or crossed eyes. Once the cause of the amblyopia is found, the child will need to use the weaker eye most of the time, so it will get stronger. To make the child use the weaker eye, a patch can be put over the stronger eye. Sometimes, eye drops or special glasses are used to blur the vision in the stronger eye. This makes the weaker eye become stronger. Patches may be used all day or part of the day, depending on the child's age and vision.

The treatment usually lasts until vision is normal, or until vision stops getting better. For most children, this takes several weeks. A few children need to use eye patches until they are 8 to 10 years old.
I have cured a lot of new diseases through diet. I have even removed the specs of people through diet. Please let me know your location so that I can do something for your child.

Have your daughter's eyes examined by an eye professional immediately. If you wait until later it will be too late to treat
