Glomerulonephritis

Glomerulonephritis is a kidney disease characterized by inflammation of the glomeruli – the small blood vessels in the kidney. A kidney biopsy is necessary to know the type of glomerulonephritis, and treatment will differ based on this.

IgA

I am 27 years old and was diagnosed w/IgA a little over a year ago.  Since then I have stabilized.  I take lisinopril which is an ACE inhibitor and fish oil supplements.  I am on the low sodium and low protein diet.  I was very ill before the doctor's figured out what was wrong.  I had major edema, frothy urine, fatigue, depression, etc. etc. (all that fun stuff)

Once I was diagnosed I started the above mentioned medication.  The only time I was on steroids was when I was in the hospital for dehydration.  I was sick with an intestinal virus.  No one had told me that when I get sick w/vomiting and diarrhea I need to go to the hospital for fluids.... I was there for a week while they monitored my kidney function that luckily improved each day and I did not have to start dialysis.

I have found that this disease is very hard to find information on and I have not been that pleased in my own experiences with doctors and learning about IgA.   I am interested in learning about other Iga-er's experiences and life-style changes.

Can the person that wrote about acupuncture give me some guidance let me know where I can find information on the right foods to eat and avoid.  I would also like to learn about you own personal experiences w/acupuncture if you don't mind.

If anyone else has any info for me I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Katie

Ama is the ancient ayurveda term for all types of auto-immune related pathogenesis. You should avoid taking a nos. of proteins of different nature/ source to enable the system to handle / reverse this type of disorders
