Dear guest, What you said is right, 'u see ur child slowly going out of ur hands'. We had undergone this trauma and lost our only child for this disease. But still we work to save this community. Muscular Dystrophy Foundation India [mdfindia] is an organisation of patients and parents of MD. Get information regarding motorised wheel chair, care and management, etc.

Keep your child away from any infection like cold, fever, etc., minute infection may lead to pnemonia or lung infection, which will make the child's condition still worse. My prayers for your son and your family to give the courage to fight this disease. Take 2D Echo to check the EF. This is being done in scan centre by a cardiologist. Try to keep him in a fresh air atmosphere.

i have a patient with muscular dystrophy. where can genetic testing or muscle biopsy for muscular dystrophy be done?
Replied on Saturday, December 27, 2008 12:00 AM
Dear Sharon, For muscle biopsy, the patient can be directed to NIMHANS Bangalore. Ask them to carry their ration card, income certificate if they come under BPL. They have stay there atleast for a day. Let them attend the OP on Monday or Wednesday. Stay one night for muscle biopsy and return. It will take a month for getting the result. Dear Sir, Our relatives children got affected by Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 12. At age 12 both brother and sister got effected by this disease. They have gone to all over south india for the treatment and they didn't find anything. In this condition they are doing the studies by the help of their parents. Please tell us when will we get a solution for Muscular Dystrophy and whom should we contact for the treatment. We will be eagerly waiting for the update. Thanking You.. Nuthan.
