Primary Amenorrhea

Primary amenorrhea is a condition when a girl has not started menstruating by the time she is 16, even though other signs of puberty, like breast development and the appearance of pubic hair, are normal. Besides hormonal abnormalities and other illnesses, low body weight or obesity, stress and rigorous exercise can cause primary amenorrhea.

Trying to Conceive with Primary Amenorrhea

Hi,
I was diagnosed with Primary Amenorrhea at the age of 15 when my period never showed up. I was put on birth control pills right away and took then for 10 years. I am now 26 and husband and I want to conceive. I have an RE who convinces me that I can conceive. I have had 2 IUIs, one of which resulted in an early miscarriage. I'm still continuing the process. We need to stay positive, believe in God and the rest will fall into place. If you get your period with the pill, at least your uterus is responding, which is a good sign. I have a smaller than normal uterus and smaller ovaries. Along with that, a complete hormonal imbalance. My ovaries have responded well but still worried about the uterus. Stay strong and stay positive! Where there's a will, there's a way!
