It is refered as inflammation of soft tissue of orbit or eyeball behind the orbital septum.Aetiology: 1.Exogenous- Any injury or retraction of foriegn body.                 2.Extention of infection from surrounding organ- paranasal sinusitis, caries teeth, bony tumors,etc                 3.Endogenous- retroretinal infection or tumors, optic neuralgia,etcSymptoms: Painful swelling of eye lid, visual disturbence, nausea, headache,etcSigns: Restricted ocular movements, pianfulness, restlessness,etc...
