Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a defect in vision caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or lens. Astigmatism blurs vision at all distances. Slight astigmatism is common and does not need to be corrected, but extreme astigmatism can cause headaches and blurred vision, and might need to be corrected by glasses, contact lens, or surgery.

LASIK

LASIK is a treatment commonly used in correcting astigmatism. This is a very simple procedure that is widely used in recent times. It involves the use of laser for reshaping cornea. The advantages of LASIK is that it is an outpatient procedure and isdone in a matter of few minutes. This is also a permanent once in a lifetime procedure. For contact lens users this procedure is only slightly costlier than using contac lens. So go to your nearest ophthalmologist and check this out.

I agree lasik can be used to correct astignmatism. I had lasik surgery a few years ago and my eyes are wonderful. I don't have a need for glasses or contacts any longer. I can also see everything for once, its great!
