Blood Group

The ABO blood group system was discovered by Karl Land Steiner in 1901. This system has classified blood into different types, based on the red blood cells (erythrocytes) and the proteins on their surface. Of the various types of red blood cell antigens - the ABO and rhesus types are the most important.

For all the information you require on blood groups and their newest subdivisions, our support group is where you will find it!

Rh typing

I have B positive blood group and my husband is O positive. I would like to know what are the likely blood groups that my children would get? Will they be Rh positive or is there a chance that they will be Rh negative also?

Your children will be either B positive or O positive. With both of you having the anti-bodies, there isn't any way for your babies to be negative. There has always been the belief that the babies would have the same blood type as their father but I haven't seen any studies to confirm this as to type factor.
