MY SON IS SUFFERING FROM AMBLYOPIA. HE IS 10 YEARS OLD. HE IS USING PATCHES SINCE LAST 8 MONTHS AND HAVE IMPROVEMENT IN EYES BUT HIS NUMBER OF EYES IS INCRESING. wHAT IS THE REASON AND WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE ADVISE......

MY SON WHO IS 4 & HALF YEARS OLD IS SUFFERING FROM AMBLYOPIA.WE HAVE DONE PATCHING AS ADVISED BY THE OPTHALMOLGIST FOR 7 MONTHS. FOR 6-7 HOURS IN THE INITIAL 2 MONTHS WHEN A MARGINAL IMPROVEMENT WAS NOTICED.AFTERWARDS NO IMPROVEMENT FOUND.THE POWER IN THE LEFT EYE IS +3 AND IN THE RIGHT EYE IT IS +6.HE IS USING SPECS SINCE FEB 2009.IS THERE ANY OTHER EFFECTIVE MODE OF TREATMENT FOR AMBLYOPIA?PLEASE ADVISE ON THE COURSE OF ACTION TO BE TAKEN ?
