Coma comes from a Greek word meaning deep sleep – a person in a coma is in a profound state of unconsciousness from which they cannot be awakened. This happens usually as a result of injury, disease, or poison.

My brother had aspiration in lungs because of he was not able to vomit out as a result met with hypoxia and is in semi coma stage from last 3 months. will he able to come to his consicousness and plz answer what to do for him next.

my husband has been in a coma for 4 months now he moves his rt. hand his feet and trys to open his eyes you can tell because he raises his eyebrows, he sometimes turns his head are these symptoms of waking up or are they considered reflexes his injury is related to a fall and had to have emergency surgery
to release pressure and hematoma plse advise me or give me some hope i pray everyday for him to recover

one of my friend aged just 16 sliped an fell down in da washroom at her house.her back head has badly hurt but did not bleed.she was taken to a nearby hospital after an hour or so.she's in coma now...she moves her hand and legs at times and also her eye balls.she even opens her eyes once in a while..but does not recogonize anyone or anything.docterd here say there is nothing they can do but just to wait.it'd be really nice of you if you can help me out.thank you.

My relative, a 60 f has been in coma for over 72 hours now. On artificial vent without any reflexes. BP, pulse an ECG are normal. H/O HTN, aortic stenosis, CAD and DM [diabetes]. Was unconscious for half an hour without any heart beat before being revived by CPR.CT scan shows diffuse cerebral edema. I myself had revived a DKA 14 year girl from coma during my first night duty as an intern @ BIRDEM, Dhaka. That was an exhilarating experience then. What are the chances for this patient regaining consciousness? What now then?

Same has happened to my mother , She had respiratory attack followed by the Cardiac arrest and then the cerbal brain anoxia .She show some response to painfull stimuli but had never open her eyes.Its being month now she is unconsicous .The incident happened on 3rd april 2011.Just to know the chances of the recovery .

my mom when into cardiac arrest and died on 03-01-2011 they revived her she has not woke up yet dr given up hope i want to ask you do you think she hear us when we tell her we love her and need he to wake up tears come out of her eyes she has open her eyes on several occasions once when she heard my brother voice and again when my sister beg her to open her eyes she poen then for about two or three minutes not all the time but sometime i hold her had and sometimes she grip my hand dr say these are reflection of the nerves tears are not reflection of the nerves when we express our love for her and it only happens whe we tell her how we need her my sister went to her room today and said out loud mom it's trina and she thought she was going to get up and she open her eyes alittle what do you think i dont want to give up on her i refuse to believe the dr please respond a.s.a.p. thanks vicky

I feel your pain because the same thing happened to my mom in march 2011. She is still in a coma like state she opems and closes her eyes, moves her tongue and expresses facial pain but she has not moved her limbs yet. Hang in there. let's keep our hopes high.

is your mom still on coma i fell pain....you need to pray and believe that she will wake up pray to God to help you pass this, gadder the whole family and pray together, pray every day God won't give any problem you can't handle so pray and believe have faith that he can save your mom
