Phimosis / Tight Foreskin

Treatment of Phimosis

Dr. M. Mohan Rao (or any other medical Doctor),

I think I suffer from Phimosis. A small portion of my foreskin is attached to the bottom part of my 'glans'. I wish to have this problem corrected, even though I haven't experienced any particularly harmful problems because of this (I am still a virgin). In your reply to Mike, you talk of surgey to correct Phimosis. Is this surgery same as Circumcision? Also, is it in anyway risky? When I partially retract my foreskin and touch my glans, I find the area extremely sensitive and it hurts a lot. How long will it take for the glans to get used to not having the foreskin? During this period, won't it be very painful for me? Please reply.

Dear Mr Oberoi,

U possibly need to undergo corcumcision. It is a simple operation performed under local anaesthesia and as out patient (daycare surgery). The exposed glans after surgery will be sensitive but will gradually get accustomed to touch etc in a matter of few weeks - exact period varies from person to person.

Good Luck

Hi there,

I also suffer from phimosis. I have heard that stretching the foreskin can be very effective. Is this True? Are there any other unsurgical treatments available?

Hi Doctor,

I am suffering from phimosis. My foreskin do not stretch at all. I am 25 and want to undergo surgery for the same. I would really appreciate if you could help me on the following questions:

Can there be any problem to have surgery at this age?

After the surgery, how much time it takes to be normal (join the work) and after how much time I would be able to have normal sex? I agree this depends on the person to person but any idea on an average basis so that I can plan it accordingly.

Can you suggest any good doctor/hospital for this surgery? I would like to have it done by any exprienced doctor.

Thanks in advance,
RK

I've been experiencing some problem with my penis the past few months. At first, I had difficulties in stretching the foreskin while masturbating or while I wash it during bath. Then, sometimes I also started to have pain in the penis head or gland, especially the fernulum area. And I also noticed that my foreskin tip looked deformed' or shrinking. Now, every time I try to stretch my tight foreskin I feel a very great pain (like it''s been burned or cut) at my fernulum area, linking my foreskin. Hence, now, I'm not able to clean my penis properly or enjoy masturbating as I used to. I'm not able to stretch the foreskin. Besides, I also noticed that the tip area of my foreskin has turned to a lighter or 'whiter' color.
Does my conditions match what the doctors call 'Phimosis' as my research over the net indicates. Is it serious and does it need surgery or circumcision is the only way? I am really stressed up and I want to make sure and understand more well before consulting a doctor or specialist at hospital. Hope you can help me on this.
