Sleep Disorder : Restless Legs Syndrome

The restless legs syndrome describes a condition in which a person has unpleasant sensations in his legs (or arms or torso) and needs to move them to relieve the sensations. The sensations are especially strong when a person is resting or lying down, and so people with the syndrome often have difficulty sleeping. Because of this, the syndrome is also classified as a sleep disorder.

I am 74 years old and have had RLS most of my life. It has gotten worse and very severe as I've gotten older. I happened upon an article suggesting that glutamate was the problem. I went on a low glutamate diet and within 12 hours I was RLS free and have remained so for about 4 months. It is not an easy diet to stay on, but to me it is worth the effort.
