Sleep Disorder : Restless Legs Syndrome

The restless legs syndrome describes a condition in which a person has unpleasant sensations in his legs (or arms or torso) and needs to move them to relieve the sensations. The sensations are especially strong when a person is resting or lying down, and so people with the syndrome often have difficulty sleeping. Because of this, the syndrome is also classified as a sleep disorder.

He can break long journeys with short walks to prevent symptoms. Stationary exercises like flexing and extending the limbs may provide relief.

3. Is RLS related to Parkinson’s disease?

Yes, it may be related to Parkinson’s disease. Dopamine deficiency is a feature of Parkinson’s disease, but the nature of its deficiency in RLS still needs to be resolved
